Our Preschool Program serves children ages 2 thru 6 (or until the child begins 1st grade). We strongly believe that your child learns best through hands on, interactive play. We offer an environment that meets the needs of children in all stages of development, which gives your child an opportunity to grow and learn at her own pace. Every child's developmental pace is different, and this philosophy allows your child to be successful when he is faced with new developmental challenges. Having a wide range of ages allows the opportunity for your child to be a leader, to learn patience, and to grow socially.

 

Our day consists of indoor play, outdoor play, large group circle time, sensory activities, large & small motor activities, music & movement, math, manipulatives, science, writing/linguistics, dramatic, social, and independent play activities, as well as tactile play and art. Our environment is child directed, meaning your child can choose the type of play he would like and we never place time limits on play. The environment often changes based on the children's interests. We never force sharing, and we teach the children to be respectful of each other's play space.  

 

We as Teachers are here to help your child work through conflicts, to help him express his feelings, and to foster a strong self esteem. It is our goal that your child will leave our program with the tools, skills, confidence, and a strong sense of self-worth when he enters Kindergarten.

 

We allow diapers at any age, and will work hand in hand with you when you are ready to start potty training your child. We participate in the Child and Adult Food Program through the state which allows us to provide healthy, home-made, well rounded meals to your child. This program is optional, and you may decline participate if you wish.

The state requires a ratio of 12 children to 1 teacher, but because our classroom offers a lot of hands on experiences we maintain a ratio of 1:8 for the majority of the day.
